Who Is Coaching For?
Coaching is beneficial for a wide range of individuals and couples who are seeking personal or professional growth, development, and positive change. Life coaching is specifically designed for people who want to improve various aspects of their lives, such as their careers, relationships, personal well-being, stress management, and overall sense of fulfillment.
What is The Process Like?
We all know that the first step is always the most difficult. But powerful change in your life can be just one call away. It all begins when you reach to make contact and schedule a free 30 minute consultation call to share a little bit about yourself and the support you’re looking for. I’ll share a bit about myself and if we feel we have a good fit, I’ll lay out a proposed plan for you to consider that will address your needs help set you on the path towards greater growth and healing.
1. What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Therapy tends to focus on mental health disorders and their diagnosis and treatment while often focusing on diving deeper into a client’s past experiences and emotional life. While not completely ignoring past experiences, coaching tends to focus on present conditions and future goals and helping clients build action steps and strategies to meet their stated goals.
2. Is coaching affordable?
I have a variety of pricing packages available to try and make coaching as affordable as possible while still providing a sustainable income for myself. With any kind of mental health treatment it can be helpful to think of the cost as an investment in yourself and to consider the cost of not pursuing guidance and assistance with the issues you are facing.
3. Is coaching covered by insurance?
Unfortunately coaching is not covered by insurance. I accept payment via credit card, venmo, and cash.
4. How often and for how long will we meet?
This can very and is something that we’ll address in the initial consultation call. I have some clients that meet with me monthly, others bi-weekly, and others weekly. Working collaboratively, we’ll come up with a meeting frequency that meets your goals, emotional needs, and financial budget.
5. How do we meet?
My office for in-person meetings is located in Tybee Island, Georgia which is conveniently located 25 minutes outside of Savannah, Georgia. Additionally I am available to meet with clients anywhere in the world via Zoom videoconferencing.
About Me
I have nearly 20 years experience working in education and mental health as a teacher, athletics coach, school administrator, and life coach. I have a bachelor’s degree in business, a master’s degree in education, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health.
I love working directly with clients as individuals, couples, and groups and helping them to gain clarity in their lives, build self-awareness, and achieve their goals to create the life they want to live in.
“Jim gave two incredibly informative presentations at our school on neurodiversity. He spent an hour with faculty and shared data, new findings and gave advice on how to meet the needs of our neurodivergent students. His parent session was longer and even more in-depth. After both, I had parents and teachers asking for the slide show and recording. One parent even said that over the course of 15 years, they had never attended a better parent education event. Jim’s authenticity, warmth, humor, and knowledge were just what our community needed for such a complex topic.”
Testimonials
“Jim’s coaching has been instrumental in my personal growth. His diverse strategies and deep understanding of neurodiversity have helped me navigate my challenges effectively. I particularly appreciate his commitment to holding me accountable compassionately, which has been crucial in my progress. Each session with him leaves me feeling realigned and ready to tackle my goals with a clear, focused plan.”
“For a long time, I was very skeptical and resistant to the idea of life coaching being for me, but I eventually made the decision to at least give it a try with Jim. I’m now closing in on my first full year here, and I’m asking you, if you are on the fence like I was, please call Jim, try it and stick with it a while. He has helped me collect so many tools already to help me change my life for the better. Seeking help is a strength, not a weakness.“
